I typically don't write reviews, but after my family's experience at this practice I felt it was my responsibility to share it with other parents when making a best decision on where to take their children for dental care. During our time there, we saw several dentists, which I believe was part of the problem -none of them ever really got to know my son or truly care about him as more than just another patient. I will say there was one assistant, Margie I believe her name is, who was always incredibly kind and patient - thank goodness for her (the one star in my rating is for her!). Aside from that, we always felt like just another patient. My oldest had two fillings done at this office, which had both fallen out (something I didn't realize they could do). So earlier this fall, when my son went in to have a filling redone (at the expense of the office), Dr. D. said he would have to extract it. He also recommended my son go to the OR to have it done. Go to the OR?! So drastic...I'm sorry, that may be commonplace for them to do with a child who doesn't sit perfectly still when having work done, but I do not believe that is necessary- and something by the way, I would NEVER do to my child. And again, I was told we were there for a filling, not an extraction. I decided to leave with my son, who had been on nitrous for a while before this decision was made (kind of surprising) because I was in such shock. Dr. D. left me with his cell number and told me to call him to discuss it further. Well, we did, a few times - both my husband and I - but he never returned our phone calls. We did get him on the phone once, but he said he would have to call us back, and never did. A few weeks later, due to the discomfort my son then experienced, we had the tooth extracted by Dr. Correil - without a visit to the OR. Then, on October 19, my husband took my son back to have the other tooth filled by Dr. Ritter. When he got there, she was set up for an extraction. Again, this was not what we were told we were there for. My husband, shocked, told her he would have to talk to me before making that kind of decision. She rudely told him that if I was the one who made the decisions, I should have been the one there. Wow! Yet again, my son had been put on nitrous before this decision was made (kind of surprising). So, my husband - feeling extremely uncomfortable from this experience - told them to take our son off the gas and that they were leaving. I talked with Dr. Ritter the next day and she denied being rude to my husband. I guess she felt embarrassed for acting that way. But aside from that, I asked her to tell me her number one recommendation for my son. She said a "white filling would be unsuccessful" and that she recommended "an extraction in the office with nitrous." Why was that her recommendation? Because it was a quick and easy procedure to do? Because then I wouldn't have to keep returning to the office to have a tooth refilled at their expense? I had done my research on extractions prior to this conversation, and I knew without a doubt in my mind, this was not a decision they were making in the best interests of my child. My son had more than 50% of his tooth left. Taking out yet ANOTHER tooth has implications for my child. One of the teeth won't even grow in for another 5 years! So then he would also need spacers put in. In our conversation, Dr. Ritter also told me it "is hard for dentists to do their best work when a child is moving around a lot." She said this to me 3 times! I then asked her if she was blaming my child for the poor dental work. Unbelievable! This is a children's dental practice?! At that moment, I knew I would NEVER return to this practice. I went for a second opinion and was told by the dentist, "an extraction is extreme" and when I told him about the suggestion to go to the OR his eyes nearly popped out of his head. My son has since had another dentist fill his tooth - no OR, no nitrous, no falling out, no problems. It appears my son wasn't the problem after all.

Landon was 4 when we transferred here. We have been completely happy since, 3 years now! When we call to schedule or reschedule, they are respectful and flexible. They are patient and understanding of my son's anxieties and nervousness. Today he had a cavity filled and Dr. D, was patient and kind, and did a wonderful job! Amy and (I regret to say I can't remember the name), the other woman, were AMAZING! If it weren't for their combined efforts- we wouldn't have been able to get my son to cooperate. Problem solved and he isn't scarred from going back. In the past we have also seen Dr. S, abd been to Bridgeport location, they have also done wonderful work! We love all the staff, they all work together to make the experience wonderful! Thank you!! **We travel from Wallingford, so you know it's good!**

My daughter was a patient here and now her son , my grandson is a patient here for 12 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful .

Great office that delivers exceptional care!

Dr. Spadinger is so gentle and precise with his dental procedures. My daughter loved it here and so does her son now. We would never think about going elsewhere . My grandson is in good hands. Thank you Commerce Park Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics for excellent care.

My boys enjoy going to the Commerse park office in Huntington center. The office staff is consistently friendly and warm. Dr Dinkes did two fillings for my 8 year old today and he was funny and super nice. The kids never mind going to this office because everyone is great and even the waiting room has fun games to keep them busy.

My girls love coming to get their teeth cleaned. The office staff is always friendly and informative. My older daughter has just started her orthodontic treatment upstairs and the staff in ortho is equally as amazing. She is always so excited to choose her next color for her brace ties and she even tries to coordinate with her friends that also come to this office. They even treat adults for orthodontics so my husband will be starting there too!!
